School Holidays: Food Activities for the Little Ones
Estimated read: 2 minutes

The Easter holidays are a great time for fun, food activities with the little ones, especially with all of the bright colours, bunnies and of course chocolate! As well as joining in with Easter Egg Hunts, which we wrote about last week, here are some Easter-themed children’s activities involving food (of course) that are creative, tasty and perfect for these school holidays, especially if the weather isn’t on our sides!
Decorate Easter Biscuits – Use bunny, egg and chick shaped cutters and once cool, decorate with pastel icing and sprinkles.

Mini Carrot Cakes or Muffins – Let the little ones help grate carrots, stir and decorate with delicious cream cheese frosting.

Baking Hot Cross Buns – A traditional Easter bake and a favourite for many here in the Robinson’s Team! The little ones can help with the kneading and adding in the raisins.

Easter Nests – Easy and simple. Mix melted chocolate with shredded wheat or cornflakes, shape into nests and top with little mini eggs.

Bunny Cupcakes – For a cheat’s way, buy made cupcakes from the supermarket and decorate cupcakes with marshmallow ears and icing faces.

Chocolate Dipped Fruit – Dip fruit, like strawberries or banana slices into white chocolate dyed which has been pre-dyed with pastel colours for a difference.

Fruit and Vegetable Bunnies – Use cut up fruit and vegetables to create bunny faces or carrot-themed platters. It’s an easy win to get the little ones to eat!

Carrot Patch Hummus Cups – For something a little different, place hummus in a cup and ‘plant’ mini carrots or pretzels in them.

Egg-Shaped Sandwiches – Use cutters to make fun-shaped sandwiches for lunch.

DIY Sandwich Wrap Bunnies – Use tortilla wraps and decorate with food to make them look like bunny faces.

Decorate Boiled Eggs with Edible Paints – Use natural food colouring or icing gels to ‘paint’ hard-boiled eggs with all sorts of colourful designs.

Make Your Own Chocolate Eggs – For something a little more challenging, use silicone moulds and melt chocolate together to make your very own chocolate eggs. A little tricky, but great if you can master the art!

Ingredients Treasure Hunt – Make clues to lead the little ones to the ingredients which can be hidden around the house in advance, then cook and bake together!

Make Your Own Easter Picnic – Let the little ones help pack snacks like a bunny trail mix, fruit skewers and sandwiches (as well as chocolate eggs) for an Easter picnic.
We know that they’ll be lots more food related activities, share in the comments below.

From all the team at Robinson’s Catering, we wish you a very happy Easter.
