Classic Homemade Lemonade:

Ingredients:
• 6–8 fresh lemons (enough to yield 1 cup of juice)
• 1 cup of sugar (adjust to taste)
• 5 cups of cold water
• Ice cubes
• Fresh mint or lemon slices for garnish

Method:
1. Juice the lemons. Roll them first to release more juice, then squeeze into a measuring jug.
2. Make a simple syrup. In a saucepan, combine 1 cup sugar with 1 cup water. Heat gently until dissolved and let it cool.
3. Mix it all together. In a large jug, combine lemon juice, syrup and 4 cups of cold water. Stir well.
4. Taste and tweak. Add more sugar or water to suit your taste.
5. Serve over ice. Garnish with lemon slices, a sprig of mint, or even a few berries for a summery pop.

Here’s some twists to add to your lemonade:

• Strawberry Lemonade - blend a handful of fresh strawberries and stir into the mix.
• Cucumber Mint Lemonade – Add cucumber slices and a few sprigs of mint for a cooling twist.
• Sparkling Lemonade – replace half the water with sparkling water for a fizzy treat.
• Lavender Lemonade – steep dried culinary lavender in the simple syrup for a floral note.

Lemonade is more than just a drink. It’s a symbol of summer hospitality. Whether you're serving it at a garden party, a wedding reception, or simply offering it at the front of a buffet table, it brings a smile and a little zing of refreshment.

From our kitchens to yours, here’s to the season of sunshine and sipping!
