Top Tips For Choosing Birmingham Catering Companies

Whenever people are booking catering facilities for an event you can bet that it will be an important occasion – perhaps a business function, family party or wedding – so it is really important that they choose their catering company and menu wisely so that the event can go to plan and impress the guests. Here are a few top tips to help you choose the right Birmingham catering companies:

1) Ask to see testimonials – perhaps on the caterers’ website or by calling one of their customers so you can see for yourself the kind of service they provide. Check out their website and make sure it looks professional or ask around for recommendations from family and friends.

2) Decide whether or not your event is themed and if so you may want to choose something special like a BBQ, hog roast or special menu. Your catering in Birmingham company will have a wide range of sample menus for you to look at but if none of these seem to fit the bill they can always tailor the food and drink to suit your requirements.

3) It is very important to be aware of any special dietary requirements that your guests may have. This information will need to be passed on to the Birmingham catering company well in advance of the event so that suitable alternative menu choices can be prepared.

4) If it isn’t just food and drink but something to serve them in or on that you require then you will need to check that your chosen catering company can also provide tableware, glassware and cutlery. You can arrange to have this delivered at the same time as your refreshments or in advance if this helps you to organise the event.

5) Finally, let your hair down and try not to worry about it. A good catering in Birmingham company will have a great deal of experience of catering for events of all sizes and varieties so you can sit back and relax and enjoy your event knowing that you have left the refreshments in good hands.

Reasons For Booking Office Catering Birmingham

There are many workplaces that provide onsite catering but they are usually big businesses who have in house catering facilities to provide food at breakfast and lunch times for members of staff. However, all businesses have occasions when they need to use the services of a professional caterer and in circumstances such as this an office catering Birmingham company comes in useful as they can provide corporate catering facilities at the company’s premises.

When firms are looking for corporate catering Birmingham they will usually have in mind a type of menu that they would like to use – perhaps a boardroom lunch, outside barbecue catering or formal sit down meal for a business event.

The type of menu will usually be decided by the type of event, the venue and the number of people that need to be catered for.

For example a sit down meal would probably be best at an evening function held at a conference venue. The menu here may be perhaps a hot food buffet consisting of various meats and accompaniments as well as vegetarian options for non-meat eating diners. If businesses have any diners with any other special dietary requirements they are best to mention it to their caterers in advance so that suitable menu choices will be available on the day.

A lunchtime boardroom meeting may best be served by sandwiches and other finger foods and an office catering Birmingham company can provide these refreshments to the business premises in time for the lunch break. Snacks such as spring rolls, samosas and wraps can also be included as can fruit kebabs and cakes for afterwards.

When businesses are unsure which menu choices would be most appropriate for the occasion and the number of diners they will need to accommodate, their corporate catering Birmingham company will always be on hand to advise and make recommendations based on their requirements and preferences.

Why Barbecue Catering Birmingham Is A Great Option

There’s nothing quite like celebrating the glorious British summertime – hot sunny days, time spent by the coast, ice creams and barbecues – but there’s no reason why this cannot be enjoyed during the working week as well as at the weekend.

One way to make the best of the great outdoors and enjoy what the summer can offer is by hiring a barbecue catering Birmingham company to cater for your corporate events.

BBQ catering Birmingham can be applicable for a wide range of events, not only those business functions taking place in the summer time. For example, you may want to have a spit roast at an evening function to complement other refreshments on offer or if the venue features pleasant gardens and outside areas a barbecue can be a great way to make use of this available space and encourage people to come outside.

There are plenty of menu choices on offer when you order barbecue catering. It is not all about meat, though of course you would expect to be able to select from mouth-watering steaks, spit roasts and ribs. There are also fish options – including half a lobster cooked in its shell as well as vegetarian alternatives as accompaniments or for those who do not eat meat.

As well as providing the food, barbecue catering Birmingham companies can also provide all of the necessary equipment that may be needed to ensure the event runs smoothly. This might include glassware, cutlery and tableware, all of which will be delivered on or prior to the event and collected afterwards.

Whatever businesses choose to do for their corporate events, eating alfresco is certainly a good way to entertain guests and give them an occasion to remember. If organisers are unsure what menus are available or how far in advance they need to order, all of the necessary information should be on the website of their chosen bbq catering Birmingham company.

Consumer Watchdog Argues that Parents Should Push for Better School Catering

The consumer watchdog Consumer Focus Wales has called upon parents to take action against poor food hygiene in schools in an attempt to ensure that school catering standards are kept up to snuff.

The organisation made the advice after receiving shocking information that revealed that 48 educational institutions had gained poor marks in relation to their hygiene as part of a Food Standards Agency scheme.

Whilst the issues are apparently being dealt with, the watchdog is still warning parents to be vigilant about the quality of school catering in their local schools.

Liz Withers, Policy Head for Consumer Focus Wales, commented “[Parents] can do this by demanding information about what action will be taken to improve the rating and to see inspection reports.”
